Today we bring you mouth watering treats to whip up for your loved one this Valentines Day. Really, you can do these whenever but we found some Valentines day inspired meals or twists to everyday meals you can bring them to let them know you wanted to go that extra mile and make the day a bit more special for them.

Breakfast:

Option 1: I Love Bacon

You’re in the kitchen about to make some eggs, bacon and toast and surprise your partner with breakfast but you are trying to figure out how to make it special and not your everyday eggs and bacon, right? Here’s an idea; take 2 strips of bacon and make them into a heart shape before you put them in the oven. They will hold the shape of the heart as they bake. It will be a cute surprise for when they see it on their breakfast plate.

Option 2: Red Velvet Pancakes

This one takes a bit more time and elbow grease than the eggs and bacon but its equally delicious and might get you more brownie points because you’re putting more time and effort into it. You will need 1 1/2 cup buttermilk, 4 eggs, 4 Tbsp melted butter, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 Tbsp. red food coloring, 2 Tbsp. Cocoa, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/3 cup of sugar 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp. of salt. Mix your dry ingredients together and set them aside. Then melt the butter in a separate bowl and add buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and the red food coloring. Pour the dry ingredients in and beat until smooth. The rest you would cook like you would a normal pancake. To make a heart shaped pancake place a heart shaped cookie cutter on the skillet and pour batter into the cookie cutter and remove the cookie cutter before flipping or when they are finished you can cut them into heart shapes.

Lunch:

Option 1: Grilled Mac and Cheese Sandwich

My mouth is watering just thinking of this. With mac and cheese you cant really go wrong in my opinion, box or homemade I’m not picky. (Bonus points for homemade with different cheeses though). Anyways, to make this simple and delicious lunch you just cook up your mac and cheese regularly according to the recipe on the box or your own recipe and add bacon if you want added yum, butter your bread normally like you would for making grilled cheese then add your mac and cheese to the bread and top with the other piece of bread. Put it on the skillet and brown it on both sides. You can cut the sandwich into heart shapes if you wish before throwing them on the skillet if you wish or you can serve them with sliced cherry tomatoes cut into little heart shapes as a garnish for the plate.

Option 2: Pack Their Lunch

Valentines Day is falling on a Friday this year and let’s face it, we might not get to spend the whole day and night with our partners. If that’s the case then why not pack you loves lunch for them to take to work? It will be a sweet surprise and you can put little notes in there for what they can expect when they get home (example; champagne, special reservations in a secret location, some other sexy surprise). Get creative. You’re still letting them know that you’re thinking of them while you’re both away from each other for the day and that you took the time to make him something special. Plus, you saved him/her from having another vending machine lunch or from having to take time from their work to go get lunch which could make them have to stay late and run into your date night together. You’re so smart!

Dinner:

Do what you want! It’s Valentines Day! You wanna go out? Do it! You wanna order in? Order in!

Dessert:

Option 1: Chocolate Mousse & Chocolate Covered Cherries

Yum. I’ll tell you what, it will be a sweet, sweet death by chocolate if this is the way to go out. Get 1 small box of instant chocolate Jell-o pudding mix, 2 cups of milk, and 1 cup of cool whip for the mousse. The topping is just 1 cup of the cool whip and 1 container of marshmallow creme. Then the finishing touch are the Maraschino cherries with the stems and a block of melting chocolate. Mix the pudding and milk according to the directions on the box then let it sit in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes. Take it out then fold in the cool whip and keep doing so until it’s completely combined. Pour the mousse mixture into glasses about 2/3 full and put back in the fridge while you prepare your topping. Take your 1 cup of cool whip and marshmallow mixture and beat ingredients until they are smooth. Rinse and drain your cherries and then gently pat them dry. Start melting your chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds. You might need to stir it and add additional time to melt if needed. Take a cherry and dip in the melted chocolate and set aside on wax paper until it’s set, repeat this for as many as you are making. Take your mousse out of the fridge and add the marshmallow whipped topping and your cherry.

Option 2: Strawberry Boquet

This one is sweet, beautiful, healthy, and easy as all get out. All you need are a few fresh strawberries, a sharp knife, wooden skewers and a steady hand. Simply take your strawberry and holding it at the thick part where the greens are you want to start making little slivers. You’re going to make about 4 around the thickest part of the strawberry then use your eyes to see how it looks and fan it out accordingly. Keep making slivers in the strawberry up and up and use the tip of the knife to fan out the slivers. then place the strawberries on the skewers and put them in a vase in the kitchen after dinner. Tell your partner that you make them and how you made them and they will get a kick out of it and appreciate the beauty and thought even more!
