As they say, men are from Mars and women are from Venus. And, it turns out to be true, but maybe we could blame that on our anatomy! Let’s find out how.
Most women find it really hard to “get” men. Men are never able to satisfy; they are always falling short of expectations. What the ladies need to understand is that men are, in actuality, totally different! So, we beg you to not give up on us; do not reject us! Let’s figure out our differences and accept each other for who we actually are! Scientific explorations have led is to study the male & female brain in detail and come up with conclusions as to why we are so different – from our responses to our choice of deodorants and perfumes. This is mainly due to how our brains are structured.
Relationships–It’s been noticed & observed that women are better communicators than men. They focus on how to create a solution, and believe in talking things through and are more empathetic. Men, are more task-oriented, they talk less and tend to be more cut off. Men have a hard time understanding emotions that are not spoken, while women tend to intuit emotions and emotional cues. These differences clearly explain why men and women sometimes have difficulty in communication and why men friendships are so distinct from friendships among women. While men and women might freely talk about what body sprays to use, when it comes to deeper, emotional discussions, the responses are completely different.
So, you have to mostly vocalize your feelings when you’re talking to a man-maybe not absolutely everything that you’re feeling but when a man asks you if something is wrong and you say “Nothing” you need to understand that unless you actually spell out the problem, he won’t have the slightest clue. Communicate simple – it’ll help.
Left brain vs both hemispheres: It’s been proven that men process better in the left hemisphere of the brain while women tend to process equally well between both the hemispheres. So, it is evident that men are stronger when it comes to left brain activities and their approach to solving a problem is different than a woman’s. Women tend to take feelings into consideration and are more creative while solving something.
This means men follow a more linear pattern while solving a problem and absolutely cannot handle multitasking. So if you ask them what is the best deodorant or perfume for men and then ask them about an issue with a co-worker in office, they lose it -because they simply can’t understand what you’re doing.
Reaction to stress: When it comes to stressful situations, men respond in a fight or flight fashion while women tend to handle the situation. So women are calmer during stressful times. Men might just even get stressed about what is the best deo for men, but women would tend to analyze this! The reason behind these different reactions to stress can be attributed to hormones. When someone is under stress the hormone oxytocin is released into the body. In men, testosterone reduces the effects of oxytocin as it is produced in high volumes during stress – the reason for the “fight or flight” response. In women, estrogen amplifies the effects of oxytocin and leads to nurturing feelings.
Apart from this, language, emotions, response to pain etc. can also be explained through the functioning of the brain – making men & women so different from one another!
