I found this recipe on Pinterest last year and made it for a Halloween party I attended and it was an absolute hit! It’s super easy and doesn’t take a lot of time or money to make which is something everyone can appreciate. It looks cool and tastes great!
What is Witches Brew?
It’s simple. Witches Brew is made with layers of brownies, Bavarian creme, and raspberry (or strawberry) preserve whichever you prefer.
What You Will Need:
1 Large Glass/Plastic serving bowl
1 Box of Brownie Mix and necessary ingredients or store bought pre-made brownies work too.
2 Boxes of Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix
Heavy Whipping Creme
Green Food Coloring
Gummy candies (bugs, body parts, eyeballs, etc.)
How To Make:
1. Bake your brownie mix according to the directions on the box. When they are cooled, cut into tiny squares and set aside.
2. Take your 2 boxes of vanilla instant pudding mix and mix in 2 quarts of heavy whipping creme. Whip until you get a nice fluffy texture. **While you are whipping slowly add green food coloring until you get the color you want.**
This is where we start to put it all together. Grab your large glass/plastic bowl. It’s time to brew.
3. Add a single layer off your chopped up brownies to the bottom of your trifle bowl and cover with a thin layer with the preserve of our choosing (raspberry or strawberry) then add a layer of your whipped Bavarian creme.
4. Repeat step 3 until you have used all of your ingredients and your trifle bowl is filled.
5. Add your spooky Halloween gummy treats to add the final touches. You can also add gel icing or Halloween sprinkles for added decoration as an option.
Depending on the amount of people and the size of bowl you will have to be the judge of how thick your layers will be. You can eye it up as you go. The good thing about this Halloween party treat is that if you find you have too much room remaining at the top of your trifle dish you can add more Halloween props and toys or edibles.
Be creative with it. Play around a bit. You can add your own twists and don’t have to stick to the exact recipe you can add your own spin. People will love it because it’s unique and your tasty treat will be the hit of the party. Nobody needs to know it only took you 20 minutes.
